The Algarve Burgau

Burgau is a small lovely village located on the coast between Lagos and Sagres it was a former fishing village and now is living mainly on tourism.

With Lagos at only 20 minutes away and along the coast to Sagres in an easterly direction, Burgau is a good base from which to explore the Western Algarve. There are some lovely coastal walks from here and many of the neighboring beaches such as Salema and Praia da Luz are well worth a visit.

One of the most popular points of the village is the small beach "Praia do Burgau", with its clear waters due to its size and climate in the region. The beach is beautifully surrounded by cliffs protecting the frequent high winds and close to the beach you will find the maze of whitewashed fishermen's houses that make up the picturesque village.

Burgau beach is a pleasantly wide stretch of golden sand with pretty cliffs at both ends.
